About

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a private, humanitarian organisation founded in 1956. We work with all aspects of the refugee cause, with the aim of helping and promoting durable solutions for refugees and internally displaced people, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. We understand "durable solutions" as any means by which the situation of refugees can be permanently and satisfactorily resolved, enabling them to live normal lives. Durable solutions can be voluntary repatriation, local integration or resettlement. We focus on assisting the displaced wherever they may be and work within these 10 areas: protection, shelter and non-food items, coordination and operational services, income generation, food security, community infrastructure and services, water, sanitation and hygiene, armed violence reduction, humanitarian mine action, education.
