International Consultant for Small Grants Setup

Objectives: The objective of the UNDP-GEF Project "Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land Resources and High Nature Value Ecosystems in the Aral Sea Basin for Multiple Benefits," implemented in Turkmenistan since March 2022, is to promote land degradation neutrality and improve the use of land and water resources in Turkmenistan's Amudarya watershed. This aims to enhance the sustainability and resilience of livelihoods and globally significant ecosystems by unlocking multiple benefits through integrated management of land and water resources, considering ecosystem services. The project involves the development of a Small Grant mechanism to promote SLM practices and incentivize local communities against unsustainable practices, prioritizing lower-income farmers, with at least 30% of beneficiaries being women.
