IC-Renewable Energy Expert and Financing Expert

Objectives: The primary objective of this assignment is to inventory non-utility scale renewable energy (NUS-RE) opportunities within Ghana and map out catalytic financing instruments to support them. The aim is to increase investment in non-utility scale renewable energy projects, thereby contributing to Ghana's Nationally Determined Contribution, as part of commitments under the 2015 Paris Agreement on climate change. Undertaking this task involves extensive research, identifying NUS-RE opportunities by different zones within the country, estimating investment needs, and recommending catalytic financing instruments. The ultimate goal is to build a comprehensive database of NUS-RE opportunities and identify main challenges and enabling factors for their successful implementation, thereby promoting sustainable energy development and diversified power sources in Ghana.
