Developing the Business Case for Resilient Infrastructure

Objectives: The IFC’s 'Developing the Business Case for Resilient Infrastructure' project is designed to enhance climate adaptation and resilience measures across infrastructure sectors such as Energy, Water, and Transport. The project aims to demonstrate the economic and financial viability of investing in adaptation and resilience (A&R) through a flagship report focused on Brazil and selected case studies from other countries. Additionally, it plans to develop a practical toolkit to aid the evaluation of A&R investments, enhancing the investment rationale and empowering global stakeholders to scale private sector finance for resilience. This initiative is crucial as emerging market infrastructure is increasingly exposed to climate risks such as extreme weather, which could undermine service delivery and economic resilience.
