Description : GGGI Indonesia Country Office is inviting eligible universities or university research centers to submit their proposals for the following scope of work under the Ecosystem-based Approach/Nature-based Solutions for Climate-Smart Livelihoods in Mangrove Landscapes (NASCLIM) Project:

PROJECT BACKGROUND:
GGGI, in partnership with Wetlands International/Yayasan Lahan Basah, and the University of British Columbia, will implement a NASCLIM project that providing support to Indonesia' for restoring degraded mangrove forests. The project will prioritize the development of sustainable, landscape-based models that can be replicated across different regions. These models will emphasize the economic benefits of mangrove restoration, aiming to demonstrate increased fishery yields and other sustainable livelihoods within three years of implementation, ensuring long-term sustainability and community engagement in mangrove restoration and protection.
Through a collaborative process involving national and local governments, six villages were selected as beneficiaries of the NASCLIM project: Liagu, Salim Batu, Sekatak Benggara, and Sekatak Buji in the Kayan Sembakung Delta in NK; Muara Pantuan and Sepatin in the Mahakam Delta in EK. These villages received initial approval from BGRM on July 12th, 2023, and were subsequently granted final approval on August 15th, 2023 (signed MoM). GGGI has also secured official approval for its NASCLIM Project Implementation Plan (PIP) from the GAC on May 10, 2024. This milestone paves the way for the project's implementation within the designated communities.
The project will implement nature-based solutions (NbS) to rehabilitate natural tidal flows and introduce sustainable fishing and aquaculture practices. This will enhance coastal community resilience and increase access to mangrove resources for marginalized groups, especially women. It aims to serve as a scalable model for wider adoption within Indonesia.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
GGGI plans to engage a qualified firm (hereinafter referred to as "the Firm") to deliver comprehensive and ongoing support across four key areas in the Kayan Sembakung Delta, North Kalimantan (NK). The support will be focusing not only on the four target villages in North Kalimantan (Liagu, Salim Batu, Sekatak Benggara, and Sekatak Buji) but also encompass broader coordination and capacity-building efforts at the sub-district, district, and potentially provincial levels. The firm should ensure alignment and integration across all tiers of governance for:
a). Strengthen the capacity of key local stakeholders—including local governments (village and district), Liagu, Salim Batu, Sekatak Benggara, and Sekatak Buji communities (particularly women and vulnerable groups), and the private sector—in the Kayan Sembakung Delta, North Kalimantan (NK).
b). Support the restoration, protection, and sustainable management of degraded and intact mangrove ecosystems on both state and private lands in Kayan Sembakung Delta, North Kalimantan (EK).
c). Enhance Liagu, Salim Batu, Sekatak Benggara, and Sekatak Buji communities’ access to mangrove resources and knowledge, empowering both women and men to actively engage in mangrove protection and rehabilitation.
d). Improve the capacity of community-based enterprises, including women-led businesses, mainly in Liagu, Salim Batu, Sekatak Benggara, and Sekatak Buji to build market linkages and access financing through partnerships with the private sector.

IMPORTANT TIMELINES:
The tender submission deadline is 10 June 2025, 16:00 pm KST (Korean Standard Time) / 15:00 pm WITA.
Note: If any bidder has any request for clarification on the TOR or any part of the tender documents, GGGI will be happy to clarify if the request is received on or before 7 days before the deadline (namely: if the tender submission deadline is 16:00 15 April KST, then the due date for submission of request for clarification is 16:00 8 April KST).

Interested parties will be required to register their details on the GGGI e-Green Procurement Portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/gggi).

HOW TO OBTAIN THE DOCUMENTS:
Documents can be accessed via the e-Green Procurement Portal by selecting ‘View Details’ on the relevant notice and then clicking the ‘Tender Application’ button. If you are a new supplier, you will be required to register your details. If you have an existing account, you will need to login to the portal. Please refer to the guidance documents under the `Supplier Guidance` area of the portal for further information.

ONLINE TENDER MANAGEMENT:

Scroll down to the heading ‘Tender Documents Received’ where you will be able to view / download the documents.

OPTING IN & OPTING OUT:
Please note that you may be required to ‘Opt In’ before you can start populating your response. The ‘Opt Out’ functionality will also be available throughout the duration of the tender process. Opting out will give you the option of declaring you no longer want to receive any further communication in relation to this tender along with the opportunity of providing comments and feedback for this decision. SUBMITTING YOUR RESPONSE VIA THE PORTAL:
Please note that you may be required to ‘Opt In’ to be able to submit a response through the portal. Your proposal will not be submitted until you click `Submit Return`, located towards the bottom of the screen.
