Update on January 20th, 2017:

(F) Road Integration Program II (NI-L1097)
This project will provide priority road improvement interventions in rural areas of greatest poverty in Nicaragua and will incorporate the following priority issues that allow to increase the effectiveness of interventions: (i) take stock of the cumulative efforts of institutional strengthening of the MTI, lessons learned and continue to support institutional strengthening; (ii) include an analysis of the effects of climate change from factibility studies and design of works to be considered in this operation; (iii) incorporate road safety actions for the benefit of users of the roads, particularly the pedestrian; (iv) prioritize the gender perspective and incorporate unprecedented pilot training for heavy equipment women operators in Nicaragua; and (v) support the MTI for the systematic construction of a valuable body of knowledge on the impact of transport operations through the generation of empirical evidence, this being a pioneer in the field of impact assessment operation. Status: Approved by the Board on 23 November 2016. Estimated total cost: US$ 89 million. Loan amount: US$ 87 million.
