The Government of Iraq has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Baghdad Water Supply and Sewerage Improvement project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Rehabilitation of Al-Ghazaliyah main trunk sewerage system. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.
The Mayoralty of Baghdad now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for bidding of the Rehabilitation of Al-Ghazaliyah main trunk sewerage system, which include; Supply, Install through pipe jacking and commission of RCP pipes of diameter 2200 mm in a depth ranging 6-8 m under Baghdad/ Amman main highway in length of around 1600m, construct 15 thrust walls and reception shafts (jacking shaft- for Jacking machines works). Construct around 6 inspection manholes or chambers inside the jacking trench shaft. The works will also include the rehabilitation of old sewer trunk and relevant manholes by using Sonar with CCTV to provide simultaneous image for both pipe and manholes for a length of around 2000 m. The works include supply, install and commission UPVC Pipelines of diameters of 400-1000 mm to connect the existing sewerage networks with the sewer main trunk of 2400mm Dia. In addition to that, the works include disconnection of the old system which consists of manholes and any connection between them. Disconnect and removal of Existing Temporary Submersible Pump Station. Supply, inspect and install ventilation pipes of 300 mm diameter.

The duration period of these works is 750 calendar days to complete all civil, electrical and mechanical works. The site is located in Ghazaliyah district west of Baghdad city along main road towards Ramadi, Baghdad- Iraq.

Bidding will be conducted through international competitive procurement using Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers- Procurement in Investment Projects Financing” July 2016 and revised November 2017, and August 2018 (World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.
Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the address mentioned below and inspect the Bidding document during office hours (9:00 am to 2:00 pm Baghdad local time) at the address given below.
The Bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of USD 400 (Four Hundred). The method of payment will be by cash payment, or certified cheque addressed to Mayoralty of Baghdad or direct deposit to the account number 0002-001028-007 in the trade bank of Iraq (TBI), and presentation of a deposit attestation from the (TBI). The document will be sent by electronic mail. Alternatively, the documents may be retrieved at the below address by the interested eligible Bidders.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 11:00 am Baghdad local time, Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 11:00 am Baghdad local time, , May 26, 2021.
All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security with an amount of 150,000 USD (One Hundred  and Fifty Thousands US Dollars), valid up to Tuesday September 21, 2021

The bid security should be addressed to Mayoralty of Baghdad and issued in the name of the Bidder (Company).

In case of Joint Venture submission the Bid Security should be issued in the name of all the Joint Venture members or in the name of one member supported by a letter of authorization from other member.
