Description
SANDY BITS KV STREAM RESTORATION AND ROAD OBLITERATION ON THE SOUTH FORK COQUILLE RIVER
The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered 1240BKQ0111 on or about June 18,2021 for the Sandy Bits KV Stream Restoration and Road Obliteration on the South Fork Coquille River, Powers Ranger District, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, Coos County, Oregon.
The solicitation will be released through the www.SAM.gov website on or after June 18, 2021. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION. The U.S. Forest Service, Region 6, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest has a requirement for restoration activities including Road Obliteration and Stream Restoration near River Mile 80 on the South Fork Coquille River. The project is located on the Powers Ranger District, Rogue River- Siskiyou NF.
The project includes:
Road obliteration work consist of water barring, live stream and cross drain culvert removals, restoring of stream channels, subsoiling compacted road fill, fill slope pullback, slashing with available existing down vegetation or seeding and mulching to get ground cover, and installing a barricade.
The stream restoration portion of the project consists of tipping and cutting trees for placement in the stream, yarding trees across the South Fork Coquille River with a cable system, placement of large wood with excavator, reconnecting the side channel with the mainstem via an excavator, and building one complex structure at the apex of the side existing side channel.
The estimated period of performance will be August 6, 2022 – September 15, 2022, due to wildlife and in-stream restrictions.
The Government intends to award a firm -fixed price contract. This project is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The North American Classification System Code (NAICS) is 115310. The size standard is 8.0 Million.
The solicitation with specifications and wage requirements will be posted to the contract opportunities website www.sam.gov. on or about June 18, 2021.
