South Sudan faces severe infrastructure deficits, with limited road networks, low electrification rates and weak public service delivery following years of conflict. Oil revenues remain the dominant fiscal resource, but infrastructure investment has lagged due to instability and capacity constraints. Strengthening governance, rebuilding transport corridors and expanding access to basic utilities are fundamental to supporting economic diversification and humanitarian recovery.
