Description

This Request for Expressions of Interest follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in UN Development Business No. 812 of 16 December 2011.

The Government of Vietnam has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) toward the cost of the Vietnam Urban Water Supply and Wastewater Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract No. UBWS-01 for consulting services for preparation of detailed design and bidding documents for Uong Bi City Water Supply System Expansion Sub-project which is implemented in Uong Bi city, Quang Ninh province.
The services include:

  • Engineering surveys and preparation of the Detailed Design, Cost Estimations for (i) rehabilitation of existing raw water reservoir with storage capacity of 26,000 cubic meter and newly construction of a raw water reservoir with designed storage capacity of 60,000 cubic meter; (ii) construction of raw water intake works, raw water mains, and water treatment plant with designed working capacity of 16,000 m3/day; (ii) construction of about 35 km transmission mains from DN200 to DN500; (iv) construction of about 17 km distribution pipes DN160; (v) construction of about 46 km service pipes from DN50 to DN75; and (vi) construction of about 7.000 water house connections
  • Preparation of Bill of Quantity for all components under the sub-project
  • Preparation of Bidding Documents for goods, works and consulting services required under the project.

    The service is planned to be rendered in 12 months starting from September 2012.

    The Quang Ninh Water Supply Project Management Unit (PMU), on behalf of the Quang Ninh Clean Water One Member Co., Ltd (QUAWACO – Project Owner) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures,
    description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.

    A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 (revised October 2006 and May 2010).

    Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information at Quang Ninh Water Supply Project Management Unit (address below) from 08:00 to 11:00 and from 14:00 to 16:30 every working day (Monday to Friday).
