Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Expert
Location – Yei and Magwi, South Sudan

The objectives of the consulting services are:
- The nutritional, economic and psychosocial living conditions of returnees, internally displaced persons and members of host communities are improved.
- To increase the production, diversity and quality of high-quality food and advice on improved nutrition, as well as to create education and qualification measures to improve the opportunities of young adults to generate income and to improve their to strengthen everyday resilience.
- Furthermore, the increase of well-being is to be achieved through psychosocial offers in the context of violence, flight and lack of perspective.
We are looking for an open-minded and motivated expert (m/f/d) with a proven track record in mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS).
Job Description:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, communicative, experienced colleague who is willing and able to integrate his/her abilities, networks and dedication to the project. The expert will be responsible for tasks involving mental health counseeling and psychosocial support.
The tasks include:
- Conducting stakeholder and needs analyses on MHPSS
- Develop and establish MHPSS guidelines related to referral to medical facilities.
- Development and implementation of the planned training on MHPSS
- Identifying and coordinating needs-based awareness-raising activities on psychosocial stigma
- Development and implementation of a monitoring system on potential unintended negative impacts and their mitigation measures
- Implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation process of planned activities
- Regular exchange with the responsible staff of the GIZ project, as well as with the partner institutions.
- Constant planning, control and monitoring of the short-term experts to be deployed
Qualifications:
- Education (2.5.1): University degree (diploma/master's degree) in social sciences, social work, psychology, public health, political sciences or courses of study similar to the subject area;
- Language (2.5.2):
- Language proficiency in English, C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- Language skills in Arabic; C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- General work experience (2.5.3):
- 10 years of professional experience in the refugee sector,
- 2 years in another country (international context)
- Specific professional experience (2.5.4): 5 years of professional experience in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS);
- Other (2.5.8): 2 years of experience in implementing training in MHPSS.
