Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of accounting transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in financial reporting.
· Assess, negotiate, and provide recommendations on budgets submitted by grant recipients, ensuring alignment with program objectives and donor requirements.
· Evaluate financial management systems, including internal controls, processes, and procedures; identify areas for enhancement and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
· Review and analyze financial statements, including income and expenditure reports, balance sheets, and cash reconciliation statements, to ensure reliability and integrity of financial information.
· Examine and interpret audit reports, identifying significant findings and providing guidance on addressing areas of concern and implementing corrective actions.
Candidate Profile:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Membership in a internationally recognized professional finance or accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA,CMA, ordre des Experts-Comptables etc.).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in a financial role with donors and international development agencies, including substantial experience in West Africa.
- Prior experience with the Global Fund and other major development programmes in multiple countries is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in managing finance operations in complex, multi-project environments to deliver results on time and within scope.
- Exceptional interpersonal, diplomatic, and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior officials and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written proficiency in both English and French.
