Project Overview:
Nicholas O’Dwyer is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the Design & Build of Water Infrastructure in Amman, Jordan.
The successful candidate will lead the delivery of water infrastructure works including water networks, reservoirs, and associated infrastructure, ensuring successful project execution, stakeholder coordination, contractual compliance, and multidisciplinary team management in a FIDIC Design & Build (Yellow Book) environment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the delivery of the Design & Build water infrastructure project.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, environmental, and construction teams.
- Liaise with contractors, stakeholders, and funding institutions.
- Oversee programme, quality, risk, budget, and project delivery.
- Manage contractor performance, technical submissions, and project reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Employer Requirements, FIDIC contract obligations, and project KPIs.
- Support stakeholder engagement, procurement, contract administration, and claims management.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental & Social Framework (ESF) requirements.
- Promote strong health & safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 15 years’ relevant post-graduate experience, including at least 5 years’ experience delivering Design & Build water infrastructure projects under similar conditions.
- Degree qualified (BSc minimum) in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline.
- Proven experience managing major water infrastructure and water network projects, including pipelines, reservoirs, pumping systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Strong experience in Design & Build (D&B) project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience administering projects under FIDIC contracts, preferably Yellow Book.
- Strong understanding of water sector infrastructure and water distribution systems.
- Experience working on World Bank, AFD, or other International Financing Institution (IFI) funded projects is essential.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary and multicultural teams in international environments.
- Strong stakeholder and client relationship management experience.
- Excellent contract administration and commercial awareness.
- Competent in office packages, Microsoft, excel PowerPoint etc.;
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently;
- Excellent clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team;
