The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is the UN program responsible for human settlements and sustainable urban development. UN-Habitat contributes to the UN system's overarching goal of reducing poverty and promoting sustainable development and it promotes urbanization as a beneficial transformational force for individuals and communities, eliminating inequality, prejudice, and poverty.
In line with its activities in Nepal, UN-Habitat assisted the Nepalese government through a series of programs and projects focused on urbanization, climate change issues, the environment, and sanitation to ensure a better urban future in the country.
