OCHA’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) seeks to optimize the speed, volume and quality of humanitarian assistance. ROAP coordinates emergency preparedness and response in the world’s most disaster-prone region in support of national governments.
Our work is focused around four key areas:
Mobilize and coordinate effective and principled humanitarian response in partnership with national and international actors in order to alleviate human suffering in disasters and emergencies.
Advocate the rights of people in need.
Promote preparedness and prevention.
Conduct humanitarian analysis and facilitate sustainable solutions
ROAP covers 41 countries. It works with these countries to ensure coordinated and effective international responses to emergency situations.
