Supporting further alignment with the EU acquis for food safety, veterinary, and phytosanitary policies

Objectives: The grant aims to support the Republic of Serbia in advancing its alignment with the EU acquis concerning food safety, veterinary, and phytosanitary policies. The central objective is the full transposition and progressive implementation of relevant EU legislation, focusing on fostering a structured and well-trained administrative framework. This enhancement is intended to ensure high standards of public health, animal welfare, and plant health at both national and EU levels. The project seeks to facilitate Serbia's negotiation processes, further develop its legislative and strategic frameworks, and strengthen administrative capacities within key ministries, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Health. Additionally, the project emphasizes the development of strategic, legislative, and institutional frameworks for Border Control Posts, along with raising awareness about the significance of EU acquis harmonization in food safety.
