ACP TA for the 11th EDF Intra-ACP Natural Disaster Risk Reduction Programme
Key expert 1 (Team leader): Disaster risk reduction Expert
Qualifications and skills
- A minimum of a Master’s degree (or equivalent diploma) in engineering, management,
- economic sciences, social sciences, development cooperation, Climate Change adaptation and mitigation or Disaster Risk Reduction, or a relevant, directly related discipline;
- Excellent oral and written command of English (C1);
- Working knowledge of French, or Spanish or Portuguese (B2 level) is an asset.
General professional experience
- Preferably 15 years but a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the areas of climate change adaptation and mitigation, and/or disaster risk reduction and/or disaster risk management.
Specific professional experience
- Preferably 7 years but a minimum of 3 years of experience in providing TA, advice or secondment, conducting analytical work or designing and implementing projects and programmes in the areas of DRR (such as, loss and damage assessment and collection, risk assessments, DRR and DRF strategies, post disaster needs assessments, recovery frameworks, emergency preparedness and management, and early warning systems);
- At least three years’ experience as Team Leader in carrying out T/A assignments for the EU or another actor in the area of international development;
- Experience with EU-funded development cooperation is an asset;
- Working experience in/with ACP countries is an asset.
