Description
International Bridge Engineer
Tasks
The International Bridge Engineer will consist of, but is not limited to: when reviewing the bridge designs, make sure that the designed structure fully integrates engineering measures to mitigate climate change risks, particularly to adapt to shorter but more intense precipitation and subsequent flash floods;
- Establish a quality control regime for the bridge works that comply fully with the designs and the best national and international standards, oversee the contractor’s self-control unit and laboratory under the guidance of the ITL;
- During the bridge work, oversee the use of materials to ensure they meet quality standards required, materials, systems, and installations;
- Conduct site inspections to confirm the layout of works, dimensional tolerances, and standard specifications;
- Determine and adopt a procedure for site specifics to result in the greatest accuracy for measurement;
- Control all distances and measurements in true structure, and substructure checked for any discrepancies;
- Conduct audit surveys on the accuracy of dimensions and elevations as the construction work progresses;
- Shall provide to the Employer independent third-party verification and certification on all bridges; and,
- Be responsible for bridge site supervision in accordance with technical and construction technical and legal requirements;
Minimum Qualification Requirements
The International Bridge Engineer shall have Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering; 10 years of experience as the Bridge Engineer working in bridge construction; 3 assignments as the Bridge Engineer; work experience of 3 assignments in Cambodia or countries within similar geographical areas.
