Project Expert (Category II)
He/she will be required to implement the project activities mentioned in points A and B, including the preparation of communication materials for the DUE and maintaining the TEI website, ensuring the highest possible degree of impact, efficiency and consistency with the EU strategic communication objectives.
He/she must participate in regular meetings with the EUD (weekly/fortnight) and interact with a wide range of actors including Member states, UN agencies, Multilateral organisation based in the country, government, civil society organizations, private sector and others. He/she must be able to produce events concept notes, strategic communication outlines and other communication documents that would describe project activities explaining their sectoral context, objectives, and implementation challenges.
He/she will be required to solve logistical issues and have a very good knowledge of local customs and economic operators in the organization of events in Chile.
He/she must be present in Santiago for the on-site events to support managing the logistical issues before, during and after the events and shall have the qualifications required inter alia in order to: o provide all the necessary logistical support before, during and after the assignment to the service providers, o carry out the administrative work such as handling the requests and the Specific Contract, o ensure an efficient invoicing and payment to the experts and service providers for both online and on-site events, o ensure all the necessary logistic tasks.
Estimated number of working days: 264 (11 days per month)
Qualifications and skills required
- A university degree, preferable master or in its absence equivalent professional experience.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in related areas.
- Demonstrable work experience in producing/organising diverse communication outputs (events, publications, podcasts etc.) in Santiago de Chile, demonstrable creativity in communication, and knowledge of (preferably EU) cooperation and understanding of communication/visibility needs of international organisations.
- Experience in coordination of events on international level and in a multicultural environment, involving the coordination of different stakeholders (participants, speakers, subcontractors).
- Experience managing all aspects of event organisation including the coordination of events in Chile or other Latin American countries will be desirable.
- Language skills: Spanish and English proficiency will be required.
