Coastal and Marine Programme Team Leader

DT Global is positioning for a large multi-country FCDO programme. The programme aims to improve the adaptive capacities, climate resilience and prosperity of coastal communities, and drive a more sustainable and inclusive management of their marine environment and coastal resources. We are looking for an experienced Team Leader (TL) with a proven track record of  successfully leading and delivering large scale multi country programmes ensuring effective, timely and Value for Money delivery.  The TL will be responsible for the strategic vision and direction, technical oversight, and overall delivery of the programme.

Please only apply if you have experience of:

  • Successfully being the team leader on large international donor-funded programmes, ideally with FCDO/DFID in sectors related to critical marine habitats, nature based solutions, small scale fisheries and sustainable aquaculture.
  • Delivering and overseeing technical assistance and capacity building to support policy and regulatory priorities as well as an enabling environment for project financing with national and sub-national governments
  • Overseeing programmes with large fund management and grant components
  • Technical expertise in small scale fisheries, sustainable aquaculture, critical marine habitats, as well as cross-cutting themes such as improving the enabling environment for financing, livelihoods, climate change adaptation & mitigation
  • Experience of working in some of the following countries: Mozambique, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines.
  • Ideally previous experience with other UK government departments (BEIS/DESNZ, Defra)
  • Vast networks with FCDO, British embassies/high commissions and in-country governments, particularly those working on COAST-related themes.

This will ideally be a full-time consultancy position for the duration of the programme, which is expected to run from Q2 2024 until the planned end of the programme in March 2030. The position will require some international travel to the above listed priority countries.
