CEFE International is planning to apply for the project “Employment Promotion for Women in Waste Management and Circular Economy in Kenya”. We are seeking a Gender, PwD, and Behaviour Change Specialist to support gender equality, disability inclusion, and community behaviour change interventions in Kenya.
Lead the design and implementation of gender-responsive and gender-transformative approaches within project activities.
Develop and adapt training modules addressing gender equality, prevention of sexual harassment, gender-based violence, and inclusion of people with disabilities (PwD).
Conduct sensitisation and awareness campaigns promoting women’s participation and equitable working conditions in the waste management and circular economy sectors.
Support the integration of gender-specific measures into partnerships between micro- and small enterprises (MSEs) and lead companies.
Ensure that training and coaching sessions are inclusive of PwD, and develop strategies to address their barriers to participation and employment.
Lead community engagement activities focused on changing attitudes towards waste management, recycling, and gender roles.
Collect data, document success stories, lessons learned, and provide recommendations for future gender and inclusion strategies.
Degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
At least 7 years of proven experience implementing gender-sensitive or gender-transformative approaches in development projects.
Expertise in designing and delivering training on gender equality, PwD inclusion, and behaviour change communication.
Demonstrated experience in conducting community sensitisation campaigns and working on social norm change initiatives.
Knowledge of international standards on gender equality, disability rights, and inclusive development.
Experience working in Kenya or similar contexts in sub-Saharan Africa is an asset.
Excellent facilitation, intercultural communication, and writing skills.
Fluency in English (knowledge of Swahili is an advantage).
