CEFE International is planning to apply for the project “Employment Promotion for Women in Waste Management and Circular Economy in Kenya”. We are seeking a Human Capacity and Behaviour Change Specialist to lead capacity development activities and support positive behaviour change in communities and enterprises involved in waste management and circular economy in Kenya.
Design and implement training programmes and workshops for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to enhance technical and business capacities in waste management and circular economy practices.
Conduct training of trainers (ToT) and coaching of trainers (ToC) to build local capacity in circular economy and gender-inclusive business models.
Develop and adapt training materials and methodologies to address specific capacity gaps and support enterprises’ transition to sustainable, circular business models.
Lead the design and rollout of community sensitisation and awareness campaigns aimed at changing behaviours related to waste collection, sorting, recycling, and sustainable consumption.
Facilitate exchange forums, networking events, and industry visits to promote peer learning and inspire adoption of best practices among women managers and entrepreneurs.
Monitor progress of training and behaviour change interventions, document outcomes, success stories, and lessons learned, and provide recommendations for scaling successful approaches.
Degree in Education, Capacity Development, Behavioural Sciences, Social Sciences, or a related field.
At least 7 years of experience in designing and implementing capacity development initiatives and behaviour change interventions, preferably in waste management, circular economy, or related green sectors.
Proven expertise in developing participatory training materials, conducting ToTs, and coaching trainers.
Experience in planning and executing community sensitisation campaigns that promote behaviour change on environmental and gender-related issues.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, participatory methodologies, and intercultural communication.
Experience working in Kenya or other sub-Saharan African countries is an asset.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
Fluency in English (knowledge of Swahili is an advantage).
