SARC - Somali Agricultural Research and Consultancy

SARC is a nonprofit organization established in 2017 headquartered in Garowe, Somalia. However, the ideas that gave birth to SARC started 2014 where a group of Somali agricultural professionals established a forum for discussing food issues and sustainability in fragile situations. SARC’s primary objective is to improve Agricultural production through research and development projects. 

Through sustainable development projects, SARC works to improve livelihoods and nutrition of agro-pastoralists and pastoralists, farmers, fishermen and other vulnerable households and strengthen their resilience.

SARC has a development consulting wing with a primary objective to support the organization’s financial sustainability and to share its expertise and knowledge through the provision of professional advisory services. The development consulting wing provide both technical consultancy and business consultancy. The technical constancy is to provide advice on agronomy, nutrition, livestock, the environment and conservation, food security and nutrition, disaster risk management and other technical applications. Business consultancy, on the other hand, involves business planning, personnel management and estate and financial management advice for agricultural business , farms and Small and Medium Enterprises .
