About
Siemens inaugurated the Anholt offshore wind farm, the third largest wind farm in the world, with the Danish Queen, Prime Minister, and Minister of Energy attending. The construction was completed on time and on budget, and the turbines will deliver green energy to 400,000 Danish households. Energinet.dk, a Danish national transmission system operator for electricity and natural gas, bought two synchronous condensers to stabilize the Danish electrical grid in a market with a large percentage of renewable energy. The order amounted to EUR 31 million.
Siemens’ Energy Sector also delivered a steam turbine, including generator, heat exchanger, and auxiliaries for Amager Resource Center, a company that administers the waste of four Danish municipalities, converting it into energy. Siemens also delivered the overall control and monitoring system for the company’s combined heat and power plant (CHP) as well as the overall electrical system (transformers, breakers, etc). The order amounted to EUR 28 million.
