About

The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) serves as a unified, nonprofit, national voice for the country's almost 3,000 conservation districts. Via grassroots advocacy, education and collaborations, NACD's objective is to promote the smart and responsible use of natural resources for all lands by representing locally-led conservation areas and associated affiliates.

NACD represents America's 3,000 preservation areas and the 17,000 people who serve on their governing boards. Conservation districts are local government units formed by state law to perform natural resource management activities on a local level.

Districts collaborate with millions of collaborating landowners and operators to administer and safeguard land and water resources on all private and public properties in the United States. The objective of NACD is to help conservation districts by offering national leadership and a united voice for environmental preservation.
