LIGHT FOR THE WORLD The Netherlands (previously Dark & Light Foundation) was founded in 1982 by Dutch ophthalmologist Dr. Martien Cozijnsen and his wife Jenny. During a trip to Thailand they discovered tremendous needs among blind children in that country. Not only because of their physical handicap, but also because of the stigma and rejection they face. Education was not available for blind children. That was the reason to start a foundation.
