BirdLife Ukraine

The Ukrainian Society for the Protection of Birds is a national public nature conservation organization founded in 1994 as the first non-governmental organization for the conservation of birds in Ukraine. Today the Society is a Ukrainian partner of BirdLife International - a global partnership of environmental organizations.

The goal is to prevent the decrease in the number and the disappearance of birds, to maintain the diversity of their species in nature by preserving, protecting key ecosystems that are crucial for birds and humans, and strengthening the role of communities through environmental measures.

Problems with birds and the environment are complex and ambitious. In order for our actions to be effective and successful, we concentrate our efforts primarily on the protection of the most threatened bird species - species listed in the Red Data Book of Ukraine and European and international red lists - as well as the conservation of the territories and habitats of such species .
