Association for Rural Advancement in Bangladesh (ARAB) has been working for the socio-economic improvement of the rural poor through organizing them into formal groups.
About 16000 rural poor people mostly from women have been affiliated into groups so far. More than 95% of them are provided with credit backed by training.
A non-political and non-profit making organization which has its mandate as per approved constitutions of the organization
The organization has its registration with the NGO Affairs Bureau (Reg. No. 1205 Date: 23-10-1997)
Association for Rural Advancement in Bangladesh (ARAB) is a non-government, non-political and non-profit making organization started its functioning since 1990. ARAB, a people oriented NGO using a rights based approach to empower poor communities and reduce poverty. ARAB has been working with seven core multi-dimensional development programs: Micro Credit, Non-Formal Education to PLCE for Human Development, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Agriculture and Rural Development, Training & Capacity Building, Disaster Preparedness & Mitigation, Enhancing Resources and Increasing Capacities of Poor Households Towards Elimination of their Poverty.
