Médicos do Mundo is a non-governmental, non-profit, independent organization that develops development cooperation projects in health and humanitarian aid around the world, providing free health care to vulnerable populations.

One of the main characteristics of Médicos do Mundo is its network of partners, which allows a great local proximity in the provision of free health care. Through the projects, Médicos do Mundo has the objective of training and educating the population of the territories in which it is present. In addition to the projects, the organization acts in the area of advocacy, in the sense of raising public awareness of social injustices.

Médicos do Mundo is today a reference organization in the area of development and humanitarian aid, with more than 37 years of existence, present in 82 countries and with 355 projects. The Portuguese delegation, founded in 1999, has 11 projects in Portugal that improve the lives of more than 4 thousand people per year.
