About

St. George’s University is a dynamic center of higher education with a global network of academic, medical, and scientific collaborators in education, medicine, research, and science. Since the University opened its doors in 1977, more than 15,000 graduates have gone on to successful careers in medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, science, and business worldwide.

Currently, more than 7,000 students from over 140 countries attend SGU and are taught by more than 2,300 faculty members recruited from across the world. SGU offers advanced, premedical, and preveterinary degrees in its Schools of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and independent and dual graduate degrees in the sciences, public health, and business. In addition, undergraduate degree programs are available through its School of Arts and Sciences.

Supporting the One Health, One Medicine philosophy, St. George’s University programs are accredited and approved by many governing authorities. It is one of only a few private medical schools in the Caribbean to be accredited by the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and other Health Professions (CAAM-HP), the regional accreditation authority. In addition, the School of Veterinary Medicine is fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Council on Education, and SGU’s Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine is accredited by the US Council on Education for Public Health—one of only a few non-US institutions to receive this coveted approval. St. George’s University is affiliated with educational institutions worldwide, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Ireland.
