We are an independent, non-profit German association and one of world's 15 national committees that support at country-level work, which was founded in 2011 authority of the United Nations "UN Women" in New York. By a "Recognition Agreement" (Recognition Agreement), the German Committee is linked to UN Women in New York and thus has officially on the terms and the obligation, in Germany known the work of UN Women on gender equality and women's rights to do.UN Women National Committee Germany eV represents the interests of UN Women at the bodies of the Federal Republic of Germany and in other international organizations. In addition, the German Committee supports the work of the UN agency at the national level with publicity and with fundraising activities.
