About
I have 36 years of extensive work experience for various international organizations (AfDB, EU, FAO, IFAD, IUCN and UNDP), and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the conception and implementation of numerous field projects, and the design of policies and strategies. I have worked in 36 countries and have an in-depth knowledge of both inland and marine artisanal fisheries, and aquaculture, all over Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. I have done some consultancy work for UNDP, FAO and IFAD, on fisheries, marine biodiversity and the Blue Economy since July 2019.
From April 2005 till September 2018 I was working at the African Development Bank (AfDB) headquarter where I held various positions from Senior Fisheries Officer to Chief Natural Resources Management officer. Since 2016, I was co-leader of the team in charge of the AfDB’s “Blue Economy flagship program”.
Before joining the AfDB, I was in charge of the marine environment and fisheries programmes of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (from 2002 to 2005). I was responsible for identification and implementation of projects in Africa, the Indian Ocean region and the Caribbean. Prior to this position, he held various advisory and fisheries project management positions in Africa for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FAO, IUCN, AFVP and an IFAD financed project, from 1984.
