Job Title: Communications and Marketing Assistant
Location: American Headquarters, New York, NY
Reports To: Communications and Marketing Manager, Malteser International Americas
Position Type: Full-time, Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days at home)

Summary:

The Communications and Marketing Assistant will assist the Communications Manager with advancing the awareness of Malteser International’s successful programming and brand in the Western Hemisphere, with special focus on the Catholic community in the United States. This position will support the development of integrated marketing campaigns and crafting a scope of communications that raise the public’s awareness of the organization’s humanitarian relief and development work, while cultivating donors.

General Duties:

The Communications Marketing Assistant will need to support the Communications Manager with a range of responsibilities in the communications, design and digital space.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and monitors our online presence including website and social media platforms
  • Supports content creation for digital marketing campaigns, including paid ads to increase digital engagement
  • Customizes and optimizes digital campaigns to ensure they hit the proposed targets, and prepares performance reports
  • Designs marketing and promotional materials, including infographics, social media explainers and data visualizations
  • Engages and partners with relevant influencers to increase digital audience reach
  • Creates social media copy and video briefs
  • Compiles regular e-mail newsletter to engage with donors and update them with relevant news
  • Support daily website maintenance and content development
  • Tracks and provides reports and analytics on web and conversion metrics
  • Monitors communications analytics including updating Google Ads to ensure CTR 10%
  • Supports press outreach efforts


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related area. Candidates with a degree in other disciplines with a proven relevant professional record will be accepted.
  • Minimum 2 years’ related work experience in the fields of public relations and marketing
  • Experience in web and graphic design, WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, InDesign
  • Knowledge of photo and video editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere
  • Advanced knowledge of Spanish
  • All candidates must be legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • All candidates must possess a current passport and be able to travel domestically and internationally

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, use independent judgment and follow-through with minimal supervision
  • Superior project management capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Effectiveness in team process, organization and time management
  • Highly organized with an extraordinary ability to implement plans and ensure their completion, meeting very strict deadlines
  • Identification with the Catholic teachings and values

  • Salary in the annual range of $45,000 to $50,000
