Project Overview:
This project aims to Increase energy efficiency, reduced energy supply costs and use renewable energy in the existing water systems for Selected Water and Wastewater Facilities in Jordan.
We are currently seeking an experienced & certified Measurement & Verification Expert with a minimum of 5 years of experience in M&V or performance monitoring in the water infrastructure projects to join our site supervision team in the region. The ideal candidate will support the implementation and performance monitoring of water supply infrastructure projects. The role will involve the development and execution of M&V plans, data analysis, and performance reporting to ensure that system improvements and investments achieve the expected savings and operational efficiencies in accordance with international M&V protocols.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Liaison with the other members of the Engineering Team;
- Reporting to Team Lead;
- Develop and implement Measurement & Verification Plans in line with IPMVP (International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol) or other applicable standards.
- Design appropriate baselines and measurement methodologies for energy, water usage, and process efficiency in water supply systems.
- Collect and analyse operational data, including flow rates, pressure levels, energy consumption, pump efficiencies, and system losses.
- Evaluate and validate savings related to non-revenue water reduction, energy efficiency, and system optimisation.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and instrumentation teams to ensure correct installation and calibration of meters and sensors.
- Conduct field visits to verify installed equipment, data logging, and system operation.
- Produce detailed M&V reports, identifying deviations, explaining variances, and recommending corrective measures.
- Provide technical support during project commissioning and performance guarantee periods.
- Assist in capacity building and training of client staff on M&V procedures and tools.
- Ensure compliance with contractual performance indicators, international best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining a culture of continuous improvement across all aspects of the working environment and projects;
- To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.
- Perform other such duties as may be reasonably required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- At least 5 years of experience in M&V or performance monitoring, ideally in the water supply or utilities sector.
- Experienced in water supply projects broad knowledge in energy efficiency related to water and wastewater facilities.
- Minimum of BSc degree qualified in Engineering, Energy, Water Resources, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Member or certified with relevant Professional Institution of IPMVP and other recognised M&V protocols.
- Experience with SCADA, data loggers, flow/pressure/energy meters, and instrumentation calibration.
- Strong analytical and data management skills; proficiency in Excel, data analytics tools, or M&V software.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English;
- Experience on projects funded by international financing institutions such as the World Bank an advantage.
- Familiarity with non-revenue water (NRW) reduction programs or energy performance contracts (EPC) desirable
- Experience in training and capacity development desirable.
- Competent in office packages, Microsoft, excel PowerPoint etc.
- Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and manage many tasks concurrently.
- Excellent clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
