WeWorld-GVC Tunisia (formerly GVC Tunisia)

GVC Tunisia is active since 2011 both in humanitarian and development actions responding to the refugee and migration crises and supporting local communities in rural areas. We promote active citizenship, diversity and tolerance through the promotion of the rights to information and freedom of expression among Tunisian civil society, conducting projects in the disadvantaged Governorates of Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine. One of the main engagements of GVC Tunisie is facilitating the inclusion of women and their active role in civil society organisations by supporting socio-economic empowerment through their inclusion in networks of the social economy. Due to the situation in Libya from mid-2014, Tunisia has been preparing a contingency plan with respective authorities to implement emergency preparedness measures, in particular in southern Tunisia.
