About
Alliance for Solidarity works in Jordan with the refugee and local population for more than 10 years . Until 2011, with women of Palestinian and Jordanian origin and, now, also, with those of Syrian origin. Alliance for Solidarity has collaborated with the Family Health Institute (IFH) in setting up three clinics in the cities of Madaba, Jerash and Ajloun , where 70% of the consultations are to Syrian refugees. In these clinics, more than 20,000 consultations are carried out each year related to their sexual and reproductive health (pregnancies, births, postpartum, family planning ...), as well as identification, attention and follow-up of cases of gender violence. There are also awareness campaigns and workshops about these types of violence and sexual education.
Alliance for Solidarity also collaborates with the Organization of Arab Women of Jordan (AWO) in the maintenance of two centers for women in the towns of Mafraq and Irbid , where response and prevention services are given to sexual and gender-based violence. the most vulnerable refugee and Jordanian population. These centers offer psychosocial care, legal advice, case management and referral, as well as awareness-raising sessions for the prevention of violence and leisure activities and informal education to promote personal growth and self-esteem of the women served.
The organization also distributes emergency humanitarian aid to families in extreme need.
