Escmid Förderverein E.V

ESCMID Foerderverein e.V. (Association for the Promotion of Research and Education in Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) founded in 2012, is a not-for-profit association registered with the Association Registry in Munich/Germany.

Purpose of the Association
The Association shall exclusively and directly pursue non-profit purposes according to the provisions of the German tax regulations entitled “steuerbegünstigte Zwecke“ in Germany as well as abroad.

The Association primarily promotes and supports other entities of private law (“Koerperschaften privaten Rechts”), who pursue the goal of fighting infectious diseases and related fields. It shall acquire assets to be made available to such entities, who are required to pursue non-profit purposes in accordance with the provisions of the German tax regulations (“Abgabenordnung”).

In addition, the Association shall devote itself to the promotion of research and education in diagnosis and therapy in the fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. T5e fields of clinical microbiology and infectious diseases encompass the study of the following: the pathogens, pathogenesis, diagnosis, epidemiology, prevention and therapy of infectious diseases, including drug usage policy, infection control, and all other basic and clinical aspects of infection and immunity. The Association supports education and teaching, collaboration in research projects and in professional matters, various publications as well as events and other activities related to these aims.
