WHO WE ARE
The Engineers Without Borders is an independent, not-for-profit, development organization operating in the Republic of Yemen under the work license number(1057)and a member association of Engineers Without Borders International. The organization has its main office at the capital Sana’a, and its services cover all regions and governorates of Yemen. The Engineers Without Borders was established in 2020, with the aim of analyzing the crucial obstacles of local community development and promoting projects that empower communities to find appropriate solutions for their infrastructure for basic human needs.
In the Yemen's toughest places, Engineers Without Borders Yemen (EWB-YEM) is partnering with local communities to meet their basic human needs. We’re committed to creating meaningful change through local impact — 80 percent of our team members are from the local areas where they work.
We bring a comprehensive approach to every challenge, addressing problems from multiple angles. And we go beyond emergency response, partnering with local governments, private sector, and civil societies, forward-thinking corporations, social entrepreneurs and people living in fragile communities to develop bold solutions that make lasting change possible.

Our Mission
We adopt the concept of humanitarian engineering, creating practical solutions that improve the well-being of the most vulnerable communities, enabling them to exploitation their internal resources to achieve sustainable development.
OUR APPROACH
We believe that the local community is the best agent for its own change, that local markets are the best engines of sustainable recovery, and that success is based on a healthy interaction between local community members. EWB Yemen seeks to build the capabilities of local communities and enhance their ability to work together effectively in accordance with the principles of participation, accountability and peaceful change.

IMPACT:
Humanitarian efforts are always needed. After any crises, they may be more at the forefront of our minds. What work is being done and to what effect? What do we still need to do? Humanitarian engineering, as defined by the Engineers Without Borders Yemen, utilizes the “skill and capabilities of engineering theory and practice toward aiding the greater good of humanity.”
Engineers Without Borders Yemen focus on developing solutions to issues and challenges to community development during early recovery and reconstruction phase. Many NGOs are working in humanitarian response however the engineering world has its Pioneers — Engineers Without Borders — where we promote humanitarian engineering to make difference and greater impact.
