Tigrai Development Association (TDA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in Washington D.C. in August 1989 by the Tigraian diaspora. Initially focused on addressing the socio-economic challenges in the Tigray region, particularly after the 17-years civil war, it later relocated its headquarters to Mekele, Tigray, in May 1991. TDA is a member-based organization with a broad membership base including students, civil servants, and community members from both urban and rural areas.

TDA's core mission is to improve the socio-economic conditions of the Tigray region through various development initiatives. Initially, the organization focused on emergency responses, building, rehabilitating, and reconstructing educational and health facilities. Over time, TDA has expanded its activities to include a wide range of projects, including the construction of schools, science and technology centers, and the implementation of school improvement plans. TDA also provides school feeding programs and has rehabilitated war-affected schools.
