About

The International Centre for Reproductive Health - Mozambique (ICRH-M, or Centro Internacional para Saúde Reprodutiva em Moçambique), is an independent Mozambican non-profit Association. It was registered with the Ministry of Justice in October 2009 and recognized as a research institution by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2011.

ICRH-M carries out scientific research, contributes to the promotion and transfer of scientific knowledge, and provides services in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights. We seek to carry out our objectives through actions in 3 strategic areas:

  • ICRH-M conducts research, monitoring and evaluation in the field of SRHR using various approaches including implementation research.
  • We work with partners, in particular the Ministry of Health and community-based organizations, to strengthen delivery of evidence-based interventions at community and health facility levels.
  • Based on our research and learning activities, we engage in advocacy for strengthened policies and practices that can improve sexual and reproductive health for vulnerable Mozambicans.

Our main areas of work include: family planning & contraception; save abortion; antenatal care, safe delivery & post-partum care; adolescent health; Early pregnancy and marriage; key populations (especially sex workers); gender-based violence; and quality of reproductive health care.
