Since established in 1987, CECI-Nepal has been on the ground in 40 districts within in five priority regions. It is the most active Canadian international development organization working in the field of economic and social development.

CECI cultivates long-term partnerships with numerous NGOs, cooperatives, private businesses, local councils, and central government agencies and departments in support of rural economic development, governance and democracy, gender equality, and improved access to services for different castes.

CECI was an actor in the resolution of civil conflict that persisted in Nepal for 10 years.
