Mauritania is ranked 157 in the Human Development Index, out of a total of 188 countries. Equity in access to health services continues to be limited by financial and geographic barriers, since more than a third of the population lives more than five kilometers from a health center. In the same way, the country's health system continues to be limited and fragile, with high indicators of maternal mortality (602 per 100,000 live births).

We develop our activities focusing mainly on the reinforcement of primary health care in the field of nutrition, sexual and reproductive health and the protection of children in vulnerable situations in the Guidimakha region and in the city of Nouakchott. A central axis of our activities has been the strengthening of gender equity and universal coverage in access to health.
