Beyond the Classroom Foundation

Beyond the Classroom Foundation (BCF) is a non-profit organization committed to improving educational access, safety, and empowerment for children, particularly girls, in underserved communities across Nigeria. Established in 2013, BCF works at the intersection of education, gender equity, and child protection, providing direct support to children while also addressing the systemic issues that keep them out of school.

Our programs focus on reaching out-of-school girls, equipping young people with life skills, and supporting vulnerable students through mentorship, community engagement, and school-based interventions. We advocate for safe learning environments, girl-friendly school policies, and youth-driven leadership initiatives. Through a combination of grassroots action and stakeholder collaboration, BTCF empowers children not just to attend school, but to thrive in and beyond the classroom.

Over the years, BCF has reached thousands of students, teachers, and parents across Nigeria through initiatives such as the Beyond Her Odds Initiative, REIGNITE Project, Safer Girls, Books Over Boys and HE FOR HER Campaign, all designed to shift mindsets, break cycles of poverty and inequality, and open doors for children to shape brighter futures.
