About
Tusmo Transformation Initiative (TTI) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering sustainable peace, promoting gender equality, and empowering vulnerable communities in Somalia through transformative training and capacity-building programs. Recognizing the multifaceted challenges faced by Somali communities, TTI adopts a holistic approach, addressing the root causes of conflict and inequality while building resilience and promoting self-reliance.
Tusmo Transformation Initiative (TTI) emerges as a direct evolution from the successful five-year tenure of Ujamaa Africa’s Empowerment Transformation Training (ETT) program in Somalia. When Ujamaa Africa strategically shifted its operational focus, the highly experienced and deeply committed Somali team responsible for the profound impact of the ETT program recognized a critical void that would emerge for the communities they served. Driven by an unwavering dedication to continue fostering resilience, self-sufficiency, and positive change, this very team made the strategic decision to establish Tusmo Transformation Initiative.
This transition is not merely a change in name, but a powerful commitment to localized leadership and sustained impact. Our team brings an unparalleled five years of direct, hands-on experience in implementing the proven ETT methodology across diverse regions of Somalia. This depth of expertise, coupled with an intimate understanding of the local context, cultural nuances, and community needs, positions TTI as a unique and highly effective vehicle for continued empowerment.
Our foundational strength lies in this experienced and committed core team. They are not simply program implementers; they are passionate community advocates who have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of the ETT program. Their collective track record demonstrates a profound ability to deliver results, build trust with beneficiaries, and navigate the complexities of humanitarian and development work in Somalia.
Tusmo Transformation Initiative is therefore much more than a new organization; it is a continuity of impact, propelled by a proven team with a renewed vision. We are poised not only to sustain the vital Empowerment Transformation Training program, which has demonstrably improved the lives of countless individuals and communities, but also to strategically expand our programmatic offerings. This expansion will address emerging needs and capitalize on identified opportunities for holistic community development. Furthermore, we are committed to broadening our geographical reach, extending our interventions to other underserved states within Somalia, thereby maximizing our positive influence across the nation.
Our commitment to “Work for Our Community” is not just a slogan; it is the driving force behind our establishment and our future trajectory. We believe in empowering local populations to drive their own development, fostering self-reliance, and building a brighter, more stable future for Somalia. We invite donors to partner with Tusmo Transformation Initiative, investing in a proven model and a dedicated team that is uniquely positioned to deliver sustainable and transformative change for the people of Somalia.
