ActionAid International (Sweden)

ActionAid Sweden was established in 2006 and is an independent organization with its own board that also works closely with our global colleagues within ActionAid International.

We want to engage people in Sweden to be involved in influencing the development of change. This can be done in many different ways. One way is to provide support as a sponsor or monthly donors or to buy a gift in our gåvoshop. Another is to take part in petitions or lobbying. Yet another way is to help as a volunteer or to share their expertise or time.

Our vision is a just, equitable and sustainable world where all people have the opportunity to shape their own lives and live a life free from poverty and oppression.

Our mission is to combat poverty and work for social justice and gender equality.

Our approach:

- With our grassroots experience, we demand action and change from those in power at local, national and international levels, always fighting for the rights of those without a voice.

- We partner with women, giving them the tools and skills to help themselves, and fight what holds them back.

- We build lasting change. We don't walk way until we see it.

- We work directly with and through local people, gaining unparalleled insight into what works.

- We respond quickly to those in urgent need with practical hands-on support.
