Save the Children emerged more than 90 years ago as a humanitarian response after the First World War, when our founder Eglantyne Jebb sought out a team of experts to work on behalf of the children affected by the conflict. For this reason, we specialize in humanitarian responses, focusing our attention on the special needs of children.
Some of the topics they focused on during the first decades of their work in Colombia were in the field of HIV-AIDS; protection against violence and sexual violence; the elimination of physical and humiliating punishment. And some of the greatest achievements were active participation in public policies and children's rights. Organization actively supports the creation of the Alliance for Children and participated in the leadership process in creating the Code for Children and Adolescents.
Save the Children is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-religious organization. Is mainly focused on the help of people who want to work for children and help us protect the lives of children.
