Save the Children - the world's leading independent children's organization - has been working in the Philippines for over three decades and is dedicated to helping children.
We protect and support children in need. We save lives in emergencies. We speak up for children’s rights. As part of the Save the Children Internationalnetwork, we share a global vision and strategy for creating better lives for children in the Philippines and across the world.
Our work
With the generosity of our supporters in the Philippines and throughout the world, we work hard to help children gain access to quality education and health services, support them in times of great need, and protect them from harm.
With more than 95 years of experience in working with children, we are at the forefront of saving children’s lives when disasters like Typhoon Yolanda strike and we create lasting change for children and their families through our long-term development programs.
Save the Children runs programs in the 3 main regions of the Philippines – Luzon,Visayas and Mindanao – and we also work in over 120 countries around the world.
Every year in the Philippines, we support hundreds of thousands of the hardest to reach and most vulnerable children and young people. In 2013, with so many families affected by Typhoon Yolanda, we managed to reach over 5.1 million children and their families – directly changing the lives of almost 810,000 people. Our efforts also contribute to Save the Children International’s work for children worldwide, which in 2013 reached more than 143 million children.
