Save the Children is an international NGO specializing in child support with a 100-year history as a pioneer in children's rights .
As a pioneer of "children's rights" Save the Children is a private, non-profit international organization that supports children. It was founded in 1919 by the English woman Egrantine Jeb. In Europe, which was devastated by World War I, she went beyond the boundaries of her enemies and allies to help children in malnourished countries. In that activity, he drafted the "Geneva Children's Rights Declaration," the world's first official document on children's rights. The idea has led to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, which is now ratified by 196 countries and territories, and is spreading around the world.
Currently, independent members from 29 countries, including Japan, are collaborating to develop child support activities in about 120 countries. As a pioneer in children's rights, the United Nations and governments have recognized its expertise and are transforming the environment surrounding children around the world.
