UNICEF aims to help around 10,000 children to go back to a safe learning environment, and reach grade one students through the provision of more than 12,000 school bags across Aleppo.

UNICEF supports children in Aleppo go back to a safe learning environment After eight years of the crisis in Syria, violence and displacement have left noticeable marks on the education infrastructure leaving one in three schools damaged or destroyed and thus too many children at risk of a future less promising than that of other children their age.

In Tal Refaat, north rural Aleppo, with thanks to a generous contribution from Germany, about 600 children have resumed their learning with the start of this school year in two schools rehabilitated by UNICEF.
