Description

Since 1986, under the stewardship of the National Resistance Movement, Uganda has successfully recovered from political turmoil, institutional breakdown and economic collapse to a remarkable success story of political stability, economic growth and structural transformation. The economy has registered impressive growth rates averaging 6.4% since 2002. The economic activity is rapidly expanding and the country has now attained conditions for economic take-off. Uganda has made significant development progress over the last 50 years and has transitioned from recovery to growth. From 2002, the economy has consistently grown by an average of 6.4% annually, building sufficient momentum for take-off.
